How football odds work on the exchange
Every price on Laser247 is a decimal: the total return per ₹1 staked, stake included, and 1 divided by the price is the probability the market is assigning. A football match odds market has three outcomes, home, draw and away, so the three implied probabilities should add up to a little over 100% on the exchange and noticeably more at a bookmaker.
| Outcome | Exchange back price | Implied probability | Typical bookmaker price |
| Home win | 2.10 | 47.6% | 2.00 |
| Draw | 3.50 | 28.6% | 3.30 |
| Away win | 4.00 | 25.0% | 3.70 |
| Total | 101.2% | about 107% |
The figures are illustrative for an evenly matched top-league fixture. The exchange total sits close to 100% because users set the prices and the platform charges commission on winnings instead; the bookmaker total carries its margin in every price. On a winning ₹1,000 back of the home side, the exchange returns ₹1,100 profit less commission against ₹1,000 at the bookmaker price above.
Back, lay and the draw
Backing a team wins only if that team wins. Laying a team wins if it draws or loses, so a lay is the same as backing “the other two outcomes” in one bet. Laying the home side at 2.10 for ₹1,000 risks ₹1,100 and wins ₹1,000 if the match ends in a draw or an away win. The draw is the outcome casual bettors misprice most, and the exchange is the only place you can lay it directly: laying the draw at 3.50 is a bet that somebody wins.
Worked example: trading a goal
| Step | Action | If home win | If draw or away win |
| 1 | Back the home side at 2.10 for ₹3,000 before kick-off | +₹3,300 | −₹3,000 |
| 2 | Home side scores in the 25th minute; price shortens to 1.45 | Unchanged | Unchanged |
| 3 | Lay the home side at 1.45 for ₹4,345 (liability ₹1,955) | +₹3,300 − ₹1,955 = +₹1,345 | −₹3,000 + ₹4,345 = +₹1,345 |
The lay stake is back stake × back price ÷ lay price: 3,000 × 2.10 ÷ 1.45 = 4,345. After step 3 the position returns about ₹1,345 whatever the result, before commission. The cash-out button performs step 3 at the best available price. The mechanics of the ladder, matching and price ticks are on the sportsbook and exchange page.
Every football market and how it settles
| Market | What you are betting on | Settles on | Exchange or sportsbook |
| Match odds (1X2) | Home, draw or away | Score after 90 minutes plus stoppage time | Both |
| Draw no bet | Home or away; stake returned on a draw | 90-minute result | Sportsbook; equivalent to Asian handicap 0 on the exchange |
| Double chance | Two of the three outcomes | 90-minute result | Sportsbook; equivalent to laying the third outcome on the exchange |
| Over/under goals | Total goals above or below a line (0.5 to 5.5 and more) | Goals in 90 minutes; own goals count | Both |
| Both teams to score | Yes or no | Each side scoring at least once in 90 minutes | Both |
| Asian handicap | A team with a goal start or deficit | 90-minute score adjusted by the line; see the next section | Both |
| Correct score | The exact score | 90-minute score; “any other” outcomes for high scores | Both |
| Half-time result | 1X2 at half-time | Score at the end of first-half stoppage time | Both |
| Half-time/full-time | The pair of results at half-time and full-time | Both scores | Sportsbook |
| Goalscorer (first, anytime) | A named player to score | Official scorer; own goals do not count; a player who does not take part is void, a substitute who enters after the first goal is void for first goalscorer | Sportsbook; anytime on the exchange for major matches |
| Corners and cards | Totals or handicaps on corners or booking points | Official match data for 90 minutes | Sportsbook |
| To qualify | Which team progresses in a knockout tie | Includes extra time and penalties | Both |
| Outright | League or tournament winner, top scorer, relegation | Final standings or the official award | Both |
Two rules catch new users. Match odds, goals and handicap markets ignore extra time and penalties: a cup tie that is 1-1 after 90 minutes settles as a draw even if one side wins the shootout. Only “to qualify” and outright markets include extra time and penalties. And a goal disallowed by VAR is not a goal; the official score after the review decides.
Asian handicap explained, line by line
Asian handicap removes the draw by giving one team a goal start. The handicap is added to that team’s score after 90 minutes, and the bet is settled on the adjusted score. There are three kinds of line, and they settle differently.
Half-goal lines: no refund possible
| Bet | Win by 2+ | Win by 1 | Draw | Lose |
| Team −0.5 | Win | Win | Lose | Lose |
| Team −1.5 | Win | Lose | Lose | Lose |
| Team +0.5 | Win | Win | Win | Lose |
| Team +1.5 | Win | Win | Win | Win if they lose by 1, otherwise lose |
−0.5 is the same bet as backing the team to win; +0.5 is the same as double chance on that team. The value of the half-goal lines is that they are quoted on the exchange with deeper liquidity than the equivalent 1X2 combinations.
Whole-goal lines: stake returned on the exact margin
| Bet | Win by 2+ | Win by 1 | Draw | Lose |
| Team 0 (draw no bet) | Win | Win | Stake returned | Lose |
| Team −1 | Win | Stake returned | Lose | Lose |
| Team +1 | Win | Win | Win | Stake returned if they lose by 1, otherwise lose |
Quarter-goal lines: the stake is split
A quarter line such as −0.75 is two bets of half the stake each, one on the line above and one on the line below: −0.75 is half on −0.5 and half on −1.
| Bet (₹1,000 at 2.00) | Win by 2+ | Win by 1 | Draw | Lose |
| Team −0.25 (half on 0, half on −0.5) | +₹1,000 | +₹1,000 | −₹500 (half returned, half lost) | −₹1,000 |
| Team −0.75 (half on −0.5, half on −1) | +₹1,000 | +₹500 (half won, half returned) | −₹1,000 | −₹1,000 |
| Team +0.25 (half on 0, half on +0.5) | +₹1,000 | +₹1,000 | +₹500 (half returned, half won) | −₹1,000 |
| Team +0.75 (half on +0.5, half on +1) | +₹1,000 | +₹1,000 | +₹1,000 | −₹500 if they lose by 1 (half lost, half returned), −₹1,000 otherwise |
Quarter lines exist because they split the difference between two whole outcomes, which lets the market price a match more finely than half-goal lines allow. Read the line on the bet slip before confirming; −0.75 and −1 look close and settle very differently when the team wins by one.
Goal lines, both teams to score and correct score
Goal markets do not care who wins, which makes them the natural market for a view about the style of a match rather than its result.
Over/under goals
Over 2.5 wins with three or more goals in 90 minutes; under 2.5 wins with two or fewer. The 2.5 line is the most traded because top-league matches average close to three goals, so the two sides are near even. Whole and quarter goal lines (2, 2.25, 2.75) follow the same refund and split rules as Asian handicap. In play, the line moves down the ladder as time passes without a goal: an under 2.5 bet that was 1.90 at kick-off is typically below 1.50 at 0-0 after an hour.
Both teams to score
Yes wins if each side scores at least once in 90 minutes; own goals count for the side credited. It overlaps heavily with over 2.5, but not completely: a 2-0 is over 1.5 and “no”, a 1-1 is under 2.5 and “yes”. In play, the “yes” price drifts sharply once one side leads and the other has stopped creating chances.
Correct score
The exact 90-minute score. Prices are long, typically 6.00 to 12.00 for the likely scores in a balanced match and much longer for the rest, and the market is where the exchange’s price advantage over a bookmaker is largest, because bookmaker margins on correct score are among the widest in football. Laying a specific score, such as laying 0-0, is a popular exchange position: it wins on every other result and the liability is small when the price is long. High-scoring outcomes settle under “any other home win”, “any other away win” or “any other draw”.
Settlement rules: 90 minutes, extra time, abandonment, VAR
| Situation | Rule |
| Extra time and penalties | Excluded from all markets except “to qualify”, “to lift the trophy” and outrights |
| Stoppage time | Included; a goal in the 90+6th minute counts |
| VAR | Settlement follows the official score after any review; a disallowed goal never counts |
| Abandoned match | Markets already decided, such as first-half goals or a goal line already passed, stand; the rest are void unless the match is completed within 48 hours |
| Postponed match | Bets stand if played within 48 hours of the original kick-off; otherwise void |
| Venue change | Bets stand unless the match moves to the away team’s ground or another country |
| Result changed later by a disciplinary ruling | Ignored; settlement uses the result at the final whistle |
| Goalscorer: player does not take part | Void |
| Goalscorer: own goal | Does not count for any player |
| Dead heat (for example joint top scorer) | Stake divided by the number of tied selections, paid at full odds |
Each market’s own rule note is the authority and is shown before you confirm. To query a settlement, open chat with the bet ID and the official source; the escalation path is on the support page.
In-play football: how prices move and when markets suspend
Football scores rarely, so in-play prices drift steadily between events and jump when something happens. The table describes the pattern on a balanced top-league match.
| Event | Effect on prices |
| Time passing at 0-0 | The draw shortens steadily; a draw at 3.50 before kick-off is typically near 2.50 at half-time and below 1.70 with 15 minutes left. Unders shorten with it |
| First goal | The largest single move: the scoring side’s price roughly halves if the goal comes early, and more if it comes late |
| Red card | Moves prices by about as much as a goal in the first half; less late in the match |
| Penalty awarded | Market suspends; reopens after the kick at the new score |
| VAR review | Market suspends until the decision; matched bets stand, and the reopened price reflects the outcome |
| Half-time | Markets usually stay open at stable prices; team news on substitutions moves them at the restart |
Bet delay and the broadcast lag
In-play bets are held for a short delay before reaching the market, shown on the market, so that nobody can bet on a goal that has already happened. If a goal, penalty or red card occurs during the delay, the market suspends and the bet is rejected. Television runs several seconds behind the stadium and streaming apps often 30 seconds or more, so a price that looks generous on a stream has usually already moved. Unmatched bets stay on the ladder through a suspension unless you cancel them; review them after every goal.
Laying the draw
Laying the draw before kick-off and trading out after a goal is one of the most common exchange football positions. It works when a goal comes, because the draw price lengthens sharply; it loses steadily when the match stays level, because the draw shortens every minute. The worst case is a goal very late, or no goal at all. Size it as a liability you are prepared to lose in full.
The 2026–27 season: results so far and what is ahead
How 2025–26 ended
| Competition | Result |
| FIFA World Cup 2026 (USA, Canada, Mexico) | Spain beat Argentina 1–0 after extra time at MetLife Stadium on 19 July 2026; Ferran Torres scored in the 106th minute after Argentina’s Enzo Fernández was sent off in stoppage time. Spain’s second title. Semi-finals: Spain 2–0 France, Argentina 2–1 England |
| UEFA Champions League | Paris Saint-Germain beat Arsenal 4–3 on penalties after a 1–1 draw in Budapest on 30 May 2026; Havertz scored early for Arsenal and Dembélé equalised from the spot. PSG’s second title in a row |
| Premier League | Arsenal champions on 85 points, seven ahead of Manchester City, with Manchester United third; West Ham, Burnley and Wolves relegated |
| Indian Super League | East Bengal won a shortened 13-round season on goal difference from Mohun Bagan Super Giant, beating Inter Kashi 2–1 on the final day, 21 May 2026; their first ISL title |
Two readings for 2026–27 prices. The Champions League final shows why the “to lift the trophy” market and the 90-minute match odds can settle differently: the match was a draw, the trophy went to PSG. And the World Cup final was a draw at 90 minutes, so every 90-minute market settled on 0–0 while the outright paid Spain.
What is ahead
| Competition | Status in October 2026 |
| Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 | Under way since August; seasons end in May 2027 |
| Champions League, Europa League, Conference League | League phase running through January 2027; knockout rounds from February |
| Indian Super League 2026–27 | 13 clubs, double round robin, home and away; see the next section |
| Internationals | FIFA windows in November and March; qualifying for the 2027 Asian Cup and continental competitions |
Exchange liquidity follows broadcast hours in India. Premier League evening kick-offs fall at 7:30 p.m. to midnight Indian time and trade deepest; Champions League nights run from 12:30 a.m., when the exchange is quieter and spreads wider in the first minutes.
Indian Super League 2026–27
The ISL returns to a full home-and-away season after the disrupted 2025–26 campaign, which was suspended in July 2025 over contractual problems, restarted on 14 February 2026 and was cut to a single round of 13 matches per club with no playoffs. The All India Football Federation confirmed on 19 August 2026 that 2026–27 proceeds with 13 clubs in a double round robin, home and away, with further details including fixtures to follow separately.
| Item | 2026–27 |
| Clubs | 13, per the AIFF announcement of 19 August 2026 |
| Format | Double round robin, home and away |
| Defending champions | East Bengal, who won 2025–26 on goal difference from Mohun Bagan Super Giant |
| Start | Reported for 10 October 2026; check the fixture list on the platform |
| Playoffs | Reported to return for the top six; to be confirmed against the published rules |
What makes ISL markets different
- Thinner liquidity. ISL exchange markets are smaller than top European leagues, so spreads are wider and large stakes move prices. Unmatched bets at your own price are often better than taking the first price shown.
- Home advantage is real. Travel distances across India, climate differences between Kolkata, Goa, Guwahati and Bengaluru, and passionate home crowds make home records stronger than in the European leagues; markets price this, but early-season prices lean on last season’s form, which this year came from a shortened, single-leg season.
- Foreign-player quotas. Each club fields a limited number of foreign players, and an injury to one of them matters more than a single absence in a European squad.
- Kick-off times. Evening kick-offs in Indian time put ISL matches against European football and, in winter, Indian cricket; liquidity concentrates in the derbies, especially the Kolkata derby between East Bengal and Mohun Bagan.

Responsible betting across a long season
Football runs every day of the week from August to May across leagues in every time zone, and an in-play market is open somewhere at almost any hour. The risk is volume, especially late-night Champions League and Latin American matches bet on out of habit rather than a view.
- Bet on leagues you follow. A price on a league you do not watch is better informed than you are.
- Stake 1 to 2% of a monthly bankroll per market, and count lay liability, not stake. Laying the draw at 3.50 for ₹1,000 risks ₹2,500.
- Keep multiples short. The margin compounds with each leg.
- Set a deposit limit and a session reminder under Account and then Responsible Gaming before the season’s busiest months. Both apply immediately.

Frequently asked questions about football betting on Laser247
What does Asian handicap mean?
Asian handicap gives one team a goal start or deficit, which removes the draw. The handicap is added to that team's 90-minute score and the bet settles on the adjusted score. Half-goal lines cannot refund, whole-goal lines return the stake on the exact margin, and quarter-goal lines split the stake across the two neighbouring lines.
Does extra time count in football bets?
No, for match odds, goals, handicap and most other markets: they settle on 90 minutes plus stoppage time. Extra time and penalties count only in to-qualify, to-lift-the-trophy and outright markets.
Can I bet on the Indian Super League?
Yes. ISL matches carry exchange and sportsbook markets. The 2026–27 season has 13 clubs in a double round robin, home and away; East Bengal are the defending champions. ISL liquidity is lower than the top European leagues, so spreads are wider.
What is the difference between draw no bet and Asian handicap 0?
None in settlement: both return the stake on a draw and pay on a win. Draw no bet is the sportsbook's name for it; on the exchange the same position is the Asian handicap 0 line.
How does laying the draw work?
Laying the draw is a bet that one team wins. Your liability is stake × (price − 1), so laying ₹1,000 at 3.50 risks ₹2,500. The draw price lengthens sharply after a goal, which lets you close at a profit, and shortens every minute the match stays level.
What happens if a match is abandoned?
Markets already decided, such as a goal line already passed, stand. The rest are void unless the match is completed within 48 hours of the original kick-off. Each market's rule note is the authority.
Does a VAR-disallowed goal count?
No. Settlement follows the official score after any VAR review. Markets suspend during a review and reopen at prices reflecting the decision.
Do own goals count for goalscorer bets?
No. An own goal counts towards the score, goal lines and both-teams-to-score, but not towards any player's goalscorer market.
Can I place an accumulator on football?
On the sportsbook, yes, across matches and sports; every leg must win and a void leg settles at 1.00. The exchange trades each market on its own.
Who won the 2026 World Cup and Champions League?
Spain won the World Cup, beating Argentina 1–0 after extra time on 19 July 2026. Paris Saint-Germain won the Champions League, beating Arsenal on penalties after a 1–1 draw in Budapest on 30 May 2026. Arsenal won the 2025–26 Premier League.
Is football betting legal in India?
Betting is a state subject in India and several states prohibit online betting; Parliament also passed the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act in August 2025. Laser247 is operated by Sports Target B.V., regulated in Curaçao. Nothing on this page is legal advice; check the law in your state before registering.
