Fantasy Sports & Laser247 – The Complete Guide for Indian Fantasy Cricket, Kabaddi & Football Fans

Laser247 Fantasy Sports: How Fantasy Cricket, Kabaddi and Football Work, Scoring, Contest Types and How Fantasy Differs From the Exchange

Laser247 offers contest-based fantasy cricket, kabaddi and football alongside its exchange and sportsbook. In fantasy you pick a team of real players before a match and score points from what they do on the field; you are ranked against other entries rather than betting on a result. This page explains the team rules, captain and vice-captain, how points are scored in each sport, the contest types and how to pick a team, and how fantasy differs from exchange betting. It is written by the Laser247 Editorial Team. Laser247 is operated by Sports Target B.V. and is for adults aged 18 and over only. Last reviewed 22 October 2026.

The Fantasy-Exchange Crossover – How Fantasy Sports Knowledge Drives Exchange Betting Value

Fantasy versus exchange betting

Many users do both on the same match: a fantasy team before the toss, and exchange trades during the match. They are separate products with separate results, and a good fantasy team says nothing about whether a match-odds price is wrong. The exchange is explained on the cricket betting page.

Captain & Vice-Captain Strategy – The Highest-Leverage Fantasy Decision

Vice-captainTypically 1.5 times pointsTypically 1.5 times pointsTypically 1.5 times points

The exact role limits, credit totals and multipliers are shown when you create a team. The captain is the single biggest decision: a captain who scores 80 points adds 80 more to your total, and a captain who scores 5 adds 5. In large contests, where many entries pick the same favourite as captain, a well-reasoned different captain is how an entry separates itself from the field; in small contests, the most reliable scorer is usually the better captain.

Scoring tables (illustrative)

Placeholder figures, not current scoring. The tables below show how fantasy points are typically awarded, with illustrative values. The scoring table that applies to a contest is shown inside that contest; where it differs from these tables, the contest is correct.

Cricket (T20)

ActionPoints (illustrative)
Run+1
Boundary bonus (four)+1
Six bonus+2
Half-century bonus+8
Century bonus+16
Dismissed for a duck (batters, wicketkeepers, all-rounders)−2
Wicket (excluding run out)+25
3-wicket bonus+4
5-wicket bonus+16
Maiden over+12
Catch+8
Stumping+12
Run out (direct hit)+12
In the announced line-up+4

Kabaddi

ActionPoints (illustrative)
Raid touch point+1
Raid bonus point+1
Successful tackle+1
Super raid (3 or more points)+3
Super tackle+2
Unsuccessful raid−1
Inflicting an all-out (each player on court)+2
Starting seven+2

Football

ActionPoints (illustrative)
Goal (forward / midfielder / defender or goalkeeper)+40 / +50 / +60
Assist+20
Clean sheet (defender or goalkeeper, 55+ minutes)+20
Save (goalkeeper)+6
Penalty saved+50
Yellow card−4
Red card−10
Own goal−8
In the starting XI+4

Whatever the exact values, the shape is the same in every system: wickets and goals are worth far more than single runs or touches, so bowlers who bowl at the death and attackers who take penalties carry the highest ceilings.

Contest types (illustrative)

Placeholder figures, not current contests. The table shows the usual kinds of fantasy contest with illustrative sizes. The contests open on a match, their entry amounts, number of entries and how winnings are shared are shown on each contest before you join; the contest card is the authority.

Check three things on every contest card before joining: how many entries it takes, what share of entries finish in the money, and how the prize is split. A contest where a small share of entries win is a long shot, whatever your team.

How to pick a fantasy team

  1. Wait for the line-ups. In cricket and football, line-ups are announced about 30 minutes before the start, and a player who does not play scores nothing. Edit your team after the announcement.
  2. Read the conditions. A flat pitch and small boundaries favour batters; a turning pitch favours spinners; dew favours the side batting second. In kabaddi, a team’s lead raider takes a large share of its raids.
  3. Buy roles, not names. Top-order batters face the most balls; death bowlers take the most wickets; all-rounders score in two ways. In football, penalty takers and set-piece specialists have the highest ceilings.
  4. Choose the captain for the contest. Reliable scorer in small contests; a sound but less popular pick in large ones.
  5. Use the credits fully. Unused credits are unused points.

In kabaddi, raiders score most of the points; the season raid leaders and how raid points are counted are on the kabaddi betting page. Football roles and set-piece takers are covered on the football betting page.

Fantasy and the law in India

The legal position of paid fantasy contests in India changed in 2025. In August 2025 Parliament passed the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, which prohibits offering, facilitating or advertising online money games in India and distinguishes them from e-sports and social games. Fantasy contests that involve paying an entry amount in the hope of winning money fall within its scope, and several large Indian fantasy platforms withdrew their paid contests after the Act. Before the Act, courts had treated fantasy sports as a game of skill; that distinction no longer settles the question for paid contests online.

Laser247 is operated by Sports Target B.V., which is incorporated and regulated in Curaçao. How the Act applies to overseas operators and to individual users is a matter for the authorities and the courts, and enforcement practice is still developing. Several states also have their own laws on online gaming for stakes. Nothing on this page is legal advice. You are responsible for knowing the law where you are; if you are unsure, take advice before playing.

How to enter a fantasy contest on Laser247

  1. Log in to your Laser247 ID on the website or the app. No ID yet? See the register page.
  2. Open Fantasy and choose a match. Pick the sport and the match; upcoming matches show the time left before team lock.
  3. Create a team. Pick players within the role limits and credit total, then choose a captain and vice-captain.
  4. Choose a contest. Read the contest card: entries, share of winners and how the prize is shared.
  5. Check your team after the line-ups. Replace any player not in the announced line-up before team lock.

Responsible play

Fantasy feels like a test of knowledge, and it is easy to treat losses as bad luck and enter more contests to win them back. Decide how many contests you will enter on a match and the most you will spend before team lock, and stop there. Set a deposit limit, a loss limit and a session reminder under Account, then Responsible Gaming; they apply to fantasy as well as betting. Free help is available in India from Tele-MANAS on 14416, the Vandrevala Foundation on +91 9999 666 555 and iCall on +91 9152987821; the responsible gaming page has the warning signs. Laser247 is for adults aged 18 and over only.

Frequently asked questions about Laser247 fantasy sports

Which fantasy sports are on Laser247?

Cricket, kabaddi and football, as contest-based fantasy games using the same Laser247 ID and wallet as the exchange and sportsbook.

How is fantasy different from betting on the exchange?

In fantasy you pick a team of players before the match and rank against other entries on points; there is no in-play trading. On the exchange you back or lay outcomes and can trade until the market closes.

How many points does a captain earn?

In most fantasy systems the captain earns double points and the vice-captain 1.5 times. The multipliers that apply are shown when you create a team.

Where is the scoring table?

Inside each contest. The tables on this page are illustrative; the contest's own table is the one that applies.

When do teams lock?

At the scheduled start of the match. You can edit your team until then, which is why it is worth checking after the line-ups are announced.

What happens if a player I picked does not play?

A player who does not take part scores no points, except where the scoring table awards a line-up bonus only to players in the announced team. Edit your team after the line-ups to avoid this.

Is paid fantasy legal in India?

The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 prohibits online money games in India, and paid fantasy contests fall within its scope. Several states have their own laws too. Nothing on this page is legal advice; check the law where you are before playing.
